The Salvation Army provides a host of services to those in need around the world. Their programs focus on rebuilding lives, community and fellowship, and comfort and support to people from all walks of life. Big Brothers Big Sisters
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Mississippi was started in October 2000 through partnerships with BBBS of America, The MS Department of Education, and the State of MS Attorney General's office. Their mission is to provide children and youth with a supportive and meaningful relationship with a caring volunteer. Stewpot Ministries
Stewpot Ministries was founded in 1981 when seven churches in Jackson, MS came together across denominational lines to discuss a problem they all had in common: consistent requests for food and assistance from downtown Jackson's poor and homeless. Habitat for Humanity
Habitat for Humanity works with people in need by building and renovating houses. This provides homes to those who need them and new life into forgotten communities. Those who qualify for the homes contribute sweat equity, and community organizations assist in donating money, materials, and their time. The National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence advocates prevention, intervention and treatment of alcoholism and other drug addictions.
